Frequently Asked Questions

Generally, users only feel a mild stinging sensation during light or medium chemical peels. After the procedure, a mild pain reliever may be taken to relieve any discomfort, if necessary. This is uncommon and typically not needed if using a mild beginner’s peel.

The results of a chemical peel vary depending on the peel that you receive. A superficial peel only slightly reduces the signs of aging and skin damage and the results are minimal unless used in cycles on a consistent basis. This way is generally the safer approach to take because you have less downtime and more peels can be used in a shorter amount of time. Typically it takes a few peels to start noticing a difference in blemishes. After one peel you should notice a difference in the texture and smoothness of your skin. It will feel much more refreshed after shedding the old dead skin cells off.

Medium peels are effective in reducing signs of sun damage and fine wrinkles but carry a higher risk and longer downtimes. With peels you can always have the option of applying it in multiple layers to increase the intensity and effectiveness of the peel on the skin. Layering is for more experienced users as the peel can penetrate a little deeper into the skin.

A deep peel noticeably tightens the skin and eliminates wrinkles and the effects are commonly dramatic. Repeated deep peels are not recommended. Deep peels can be performed at a physicians office and downtimes can last anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks.

One thing to remember is always be patient when using a chemical peel, many expect to see miracles in just one peel. The best approach is to take is slower and start with a lower strength peel, then you can work your way up to applying it on a regular basis, with consistency you will see positive results. Results will vary from person to person, each person will always have a unique experience with each peel.

The final cost of your procedure will depend on the type of peel you want, the condition of your skin, and other factors unique to your case. We offer a variety of peels for many different skin conditions and types. Prices generally start at $149 and can be packaged for discounted pricing. Many of our procedures can be financed through Care Credit.
